Throughout most of the U.S. involvement in World War II, Japanese-Americans were forced from their homes on the West Coast and sent to live in government internment camps. Many internees were avid baseball players and organized teams to play against local groups.
In honor of the start of the baseball season, Holt-Atherton Special Collections Department is presenting a new exhibit on baseball in the internment camps. Located in the lobby, the exhibit features camp newspaper clippings and other documents that help to tell the story of baseball in the camps.
