One Book, One Community

1 book 1 communityWhen the Emperor Was Divine

The University Library invites you to participate in our first “One Book, One Community” program. Our goal is to have as many people on campus to read one book, in this case, When the Emperor was Divine, by Julie Otsuka., and then talk about it.

Ms Otsuka will be on campus on Friday, November 2. She will read from the book and answer questions in an open forum in the Pacific Theater, from 2-3:30pm.

When the Emperor was Divine is an eloquent and heartbreaking novel of a Japanese-American family relocated to an internment camp during World War II. We encourage you to read descriptions and reviews of the book at Amazon.com.
