The next book club book is The World Without Us, by Alan Weisman. It posits the provocative question, “If a virulent virus—or even the Rapture—depopulated Earth overnight, how long before all trace of humankind vanished?”

We’ll address these and other issues raised by the book on May 6, Noon-1, Library Taylor Room. Please RSVP to Sally DeLorenzo (sdelorenzo@pacific.edu) if you are attending!

Faculty/Staff Book Discussion, July 31, 2007

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

We are having our first faculty/staff book discussion today. The book is Khaled Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns, his first novel since The Kite Runner. I hope that after we talk about the book at lunch that people will continue the conversation by posting comments, ideas, observations, etc. on this Blog.

In any event, we have already scheduled the next discussion; it will be August 15 and we will talk about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
